About Us
Our story
A century of craft.
Reimagined for today.
Himtaj was born from a 100-year-old jewelry legacy in Ayodhya — and a Gen Z founder who refused to choose between heritage and modernity.
"Every woman deserves jewelry she can wear on a Tuesday — not just her wedding day."
The beginning
For over a century, our family has crafted gold and silver jewelry in Ayodhya — one of India's oldest and most sacred cities. As Ayodhyavasi Sonars, the art of jewelry-making was not a career choice for us. It was simply what we did. Passed down through hands, through memory, through fire and metal.
But when Himani — the family's latest generation — grew up and moved away, first to the hills of Darjeeling for her studies, then to Delhi NCR for her MBA, she noticed something missing in her own jewelry box. The pieces she had inherited were breathtaking — built for ceremonies and celebrations. But what about every other day? What about the woman who wants to feel beautiful at a boardroom meeting, a rooftop dinner, or just a quiet Sunday walk?
That gap became Himtaj.
What we stand for
01
100 years of craft
Every piece — silver or gold — carries the weight of a craftsmanship lineage that predates modern India.
02
Made to be worn daily
Not locked in a locker. Designed for the woman who lives her life fully, every single day.
03
Modern minimal luxury
Clean lines, premium silver, no excess. Jewelry that speaks quietly and is heard loudly.
The journey
Legacy — Ayodhya
100+ years of jewelry-making. Our family has crafted gold and silver pieces for generations of women across Uttar Pradesh — bridal sets, temple pieces, family heirlooms.
The shift — Darjeeling & Delhi
Himani leaves home. Studying in Darjeeling and pursuing her MBA in Delhi NCR, she sees firsthand how modern Indian women live — and what their jewelry boxes are missing.
The founding — Himtaj
A new category is born. Himani returns to the family's craft with a new lens — building a silver jewelry brand that bridges a century of tradition with the sensibility of a generation that refuses to compromise.

Founder, Himtaj Jewelry · Ayodhya → Darjeeling → Delhi
"I grew up watching my family pour their hearts into jewelry for brides and temples. I wanted to create something for the woman who is neither — who simply wants to feel like herself, beautifully, every day."

Whether you are a 22-year-old buying your first real silver chain, a bride choosing pieces that will outlast the wedding, or a woman gifting something worth ₹40,000 to someone she loves — Himtaj is made for you. Not for an occasion. For a life.
